Nominator's project description
| Professor Orrit made outstanding contributions to the field of single molecule spectroscopy in solids. It is the technique introduced by him in 1990 which made the spectroscopy of single molecules to a widely used method not only in physics but also in biology. Professor Orrit's focus has been on basic quantum properties of a single molecule in a solid environment, especially on tunneling phenomena. |
